Whenever a new year starts I write a big list of books I want to read and this year is no exception. One of my goals is to always read more than the year before, let’s see if I can manage it this time. 2019 was not my best reading year because I got distracted by scrolling through my phone a lot. Ewhh, not good! I read 20 books in total, most of them during the end of the year. For some people this might be a lot but I know I can do a lot better and I also want to do better. So my plan for 2020: read at least 21 books! 😄 I already managed to read 2 books during the last few days, because I was sick. So it was at least a good ‘reading start’. Anyway, here are some of the books that I would like to dive into in 2020!
- “Rebecca” by Daphne Du Maurier
- “Little Women” by Louisa May Alcott
- “The Hound of the Baskervilles” by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
- “The Valley of Fear” by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
- “Pride & Prejudice” by Jane Austen (re-read)
- “Lady Susan” by Jane Austen
- “The Watsons” by Jane Austen
- “Jane Eyre” by Charlotte Brontë (re-read)
- “Agnes Grey” by Anne Brontë
- Some short stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald (f.e. “The Scandal Detectives, “The Diamond As Big As The Ritz”)
- “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald (re-read)
- “Save Me The Waltz” by Zelda Fitzgerald
- “Sad Cypress” by Agatha Christie
- “The Clocks” by Agatha Christie
- “The Man in the Brown Suit” by Agatha Christie
- “A Murder is Announced” by Agatha Christie
- “Hercule Poirots Christmas” by Agatha Christie (re-read)
- “The Moving Finger” by Agatha Christie
- “A Study In Charlotte” by Brittany Cavallaro
- “Madame Picasso” by Anne Girard
- “Madame Piaf und das Lied der Liebe” by Michelle Marly (I can’t find an English Version)

- “Dutch Girl: Audrey Hepburn and World War II” by Robert Matzen

Your Shirinatra xx
P.S. I’m 100% sure I’ll add more books to this list throughout the year 😄
Great list! I also want to finally get my hands on Little Women this year, hehe. You’ll love The Hound of the Baskervilles! It’s one of Doyle’s best, in my opinion 🙂

Great list! I already have some of those on mine and I’m sure I’ll add some of the ones I didn’t already have. Fingers crossed that you’ll get to the 21 you want. I’ll be rooting for you! ❤

If you love Pride & Prejudice, you should read North & South by Elizabeth Gaskell. It’s a Pride & Prejudice like plot but set during the Industrial Revolution where a girl from the South of England had to move to an industrial city in the North. There’s an amazing BBC adaptation of it as well that you should watch if you haven’t seen it already. It’s my favourite period drama and I’ve seen them all! Richard Armitage does a lot of good ‚brooding‘ as the moody factory owner, Mr Thornton.
