My favorite Christmas Movies

It’s the most wonderful time of the year – and we all know what that means. Loads of Christmas sweets, music and not to forget movies. One of the best parts of this season is to sit in the cozy living room with my family, while eating biscuits and watching a good old Christmas movie. And since this is such a great part of my Christmas time, I decided to talk about my favorite movies to watch during the season. Enjoy!

Three Wishes for Cinderella

“Three Wishes for Cinderella” also known as “Drei Hasselnüsse für Aschenbrödel” or “Tři oříšky pro Popelku” is a german/czech movie from the year 1973. It’s quite popular in Germany (at least in the part where I live) and it broadcasts every Christmas on german TV. I used to watch this fairytale every year as a child and it still is one of may favorites – so it became kind of a Tradition to watch it. It’s a lovely made Christmas movie in a magical snowy scenery with great music.

The Holiday

It’s not the typical Christmas movie, but “The Holiday” from 2006 is another favorite of mine. First of all I love the cast – Cameron Diaz, Jack Black, Kate Winslet, Jude Law – and even Eli Wallach has a part in it (who f.e. co-starred Audrey Hepburn in “How To Steal A Million”). The way they work together is just amazing and it always puts me into a happy mood. Also the music – it’s incredible – no more words needed. Hans Zimmer is probably the best composer on this planet and he gives the movie even more life.

Love Actually

Another lovely Christmas movie with a great cast, many different little stories and lots of love! This movie from 2003 is a must-watch during Christmas time and I can only recommend it to everyone out there!

Miracle on 34th Street (1947)

This is actually the only Old Hollywood Christmas movie I’ve seen so far, but I love it. It’s very sweet and perfect to watch with the whole family. It’s starring Maureen O’Hara, Natalie Wood, Jone Payne and Edmund Gwenn, who set us in a wonderful Christmas spirit.

So these are my top 4 – a very mixed selection of old and new movies. What are your Christmas favorites? Do you like some movies of my list or do enjoy watching completely other movies? Tell me. I would love to know.

See you soon and have a merry Christmas ❤🎅🏻

i really reaaaally recommend It’s A Wonderful Life by Capra! the movie’s so positive and ut’s from the 40s 🙂 it should be really easy to find because the studio actually forgot to ask for royalties for a few years so the movie was aired on every channel and sold on so many VHS tapes.
